Self-Compassion Practice
Practicing self-compassion can reduce anxiety, depression, and stress while improving emotional resilience and well-being.
GREAT FOR
Self-compassion involves treating yourself with the same kindness, care, and understanding that you would offer to a close friend during difficult times. This practice consists of three main components: self-kindness (being warm and understanding toward yourself), common humanity (recognizing that suffering is a shared human experience), and mindfulness (maintaining a balanced perspective on negative emotions). Research has shown that self-compassion is strongly associated with emotional well-being, reduced anxiety and depression, and greater resilience in the face of stress. Unlike self-esteem, which depends on positive evaluations and comparisons with others, self-compassion provides a stable source of positive self-regard that doesn't fluctuate based on success or failure.
